Good intelligence shows its sources.
How BookTrendSpy separates observed signals, rough estimates and experimental forecasts.
Data actually available in the private research suite
Google Trends exports: user-uploaded CSV histories of relative search interest (0–100). These are not Amazon searches. Wikipedia pageviews: public encyclopedia traffic, an attention signal only. Google Books and Open Library: catalog discovery; not a census of Amazon book listings. US trending searches and news: general attention indicators which may not predict purchases.
Amazon keyword volumes and competitor information
The private suite can store your observed ASIN data and keyword research, and import CSV reports. An optional DataForSEO endpoint can supply third-party modeled Amazon US keyword volumes if you later add your own paid credentials and explicitly approve a request. The free release does not claim to provide official Amazon search counts.
SEO and financial calculators
Listing audits are rule-based editorial checks, not ranking guarantees. Royalty and advertising scenarios use figures you enter, such as actual KDP royalty per sale and estimated conversion rates. First-party Amazon Ads results can be imported as CSV.
Trend forecasting limitations
The private application contains exploratory damped-trend forecasts. It does not yet provide statistically calibrated sales predictions. Predicting readership or sales from a single data series would be misleading. Forecasts need continued observations, historical testing and uncertainty reporting.
