Who the site is for

BookTrendSpy is meant for readers and writers aged 14 and over. Younger visitors should use it together with a parent, teacher or other adult. You can use the whole site without giving us any personal information; see our privacy notice.

About the books listed

Our charts show what is selling, not what we recommend. They are compiled automatically from public bestseller lists, so they include books written for adults, and some titles, descriptions or covers may be unsuitable for some readers of any age. Titles that the store marks as explicit, or that sit in erotic genres, keep their real chart position but are labelled 18+, with no cover, description or store link. Our pick of the month and our guides are chosen by us and checked by the editor; see how we research and check.

How accurate the information is

We collect the data carefully and fix mistakes when we find them, but it is provided as is. Chart positions are not sales figures, and prices, availability and royalty rules can change at any time. The calculators and guides are general information for writers, not legal, tax or financial advice; check the store's own terms before you rely on a number.

Using our charts and data

You may quote our charts, and reuse our own content in the open data files (World Index scores, genre groupings and page text) with credit: "Source: BookTrendSpy (booktrendspy.com)". Chart positions, book titles, author names, Apple Books ids and cover images come from Apple and the rights holders; we grant no rights in them, and their reuse is subject to Apple's terms. Please don't copy the site's design or guides wholesale, and keep automated requests to a reasonable rate; the open data files are the easiest way to get everything at once.

Links to other sites

Links to stores and other websites are for your convenience. Their own terms and privacy policies apply once you leave BookTrendSpy. Store links carry no affiliate codes at present.
